Marina Kerze was born in Perm, Russia into a musical family. Since her early childhood she was actively participating in the concert life of her home town. She made her debut with a symphony orchestra at the age of 12, won several piano competitions and took part in many festivals and master classes. After graduating from Perm Music College in 2002, Marina had entered St. Petersburg State Conservatory and then continued her studies in the United States in 2005 where she received her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Cleveland State University and an Artist Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She participated in a great number of concerts as a soloist and a member of a chamber ensemble, won several concerto competitions, performing Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov and Saint-Saens Concertos. She has served as a piano faculty member of the Aurora School of Music, adjunct faculty/accompanist at Cleveland State University, and is currently teaching privately and performing in the Cleveland area. Marina is known as a pianist with impressive virtuosity and very fluid playing. Her performances are described as brilliant, powerful and excellent in rhythm and accuracy. She has a wonderful facility and ease at the instrument and a simple yet elegant stage presence.
