Vitali Berzon

Berzon’s career began as a soloist with Lenconcert, expanding his repertoire from classical to contemporary pieces. His passionate play, refined technique, stylistic clarity, and sincerity have garnered acclaim in Leningrad and beyond. Honored as an Artist of the RSFSR in 1985, he taught at the Rimsky-Korsakov Leningrad State Conservatory (1985-1989), Sibelius Academy in Finland (1991-1995), and became a professor at the University of Music Freiburg in Germany (1995).

Excelling in teaching and performing, Berzon captivates audiences across Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Taiwan. Collaborating with renowned musicians and conductors, he records concertos by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Chopin, Grieg, and Rachmaninoff.

As both soloist and conductor, Berzon works with orchestras like the Leningrad Chamber Orchestra and the Camerata Würzburg Orchestra (Germany). Noteworthy performances at the Prague Spring Festival and acclaimed recordings showcase his mastery, depth, and sincerity, earning praise such as “Berzon, a Russian pianist, played magnificently…”
